A Good Start By U/21 Lions Against Cheetahs

The Lions u/21 started their 2019 season with a good 54-33 win against the Free State Cheetahs on Friday afternoon at Wits. An amazing thirteen tries were scored with three of them being forward tries after driving mauls by the Free State.

With the score 33-07 at half time, the Golden Lions threatened to run away with the game but the Cheetahs came back in the second half to outscore the Golden Lions with four tries to three.

The Cheetahs was content to use their forwards to score tries while the Lions who can be blamed for being too predictable on occasions was happy to give the speedsters space to do their thing. A try-scoring festival it was with connoisseurs one would feel not too excited.

Replacement hooker Carl Wilberg scored two tries thanks to the Free State's driving mauls while wing Prince Nkabinde also scored two tries for the home team.
