SARU u/21 Championship – Blue Bulls Continue Dominance

In a weekend where non of the home teams won and all of the winning teams received a yellow card, the Bulls consolidated their place at the top of the log in yet another comprehensive win. Western Province travelled to Johannesburg to collect some vital log points in a win against hosts, the Golden Lions on Friday afternoon. Saturday, the Blue Bulls u/21 continued their brilliant form in the 2019 SARU u/21 Championship with yet another win against the Leopards, while the Free State Cheetahs continued their good form with a win against the Sharks.

Golden Lions 10-20 Western Province.

The Golden Lions looked a lot better than what they did in their previous matches but their inability to score tries again robbed them of valuable points on the scoreboard as wells as log points. Western Province lead 10-3 at half time with winger Sihle Njezula who scored a try in each half the difference between the two teams.

Sharks 40-44 Free State Cheetahs

In a battle for the second place on the log, the Free State Cheetahs scored a 40-44 win after outscoring their hosts seven tries to six in a match where 84 points were scored.

The first half was a close affair with the Cheetahs leading 18-12 at halftime. The second half was a free for all with not much attention given to defence as both teams scored four in a try fest.

Leopards 6-40 Blue Bulls

The Blue Bulls dominating the game only allowing the Leopards two converted penalties in the first half and outscoring their hosts five tries to zero.

The Blue Bulls lead 19-6 at halftime and just continued to dominate proceedings for the rest of the game. It was confirmed that most of the stars of this team have already committed themselves to the Blue Bulls for 2021.
